I went to Tim hortons to surprise my coworkers with coffee. When I arrive at Tim’s there was a long line up, and a few cars lining up to go through the drive through. I let someone ahead of me not thinking anything of it, giving him a wave. So when the man in front of me go to the pickup window he offered to pay for my order not knowing I was picking up coffee for my whole work crew. So when the cashier told him that my order was $27 he simply stated merry Christmas. I want him to know this was greatly appreciated amount a fantastic group of nurses and security staff.
I started my Kindness Revolution after loosing my daughter in 2008. I have made and given away many thousands of pieces of jewelry. Each piece has a card with my daughters picture, a kindness inspiration and a request that they pay the kindness forward. This has saved me, every smile I get, every hug I give, every lifted person….means she is still “here” with me.
Every Thanksgiving, my Dad and I make about 40 bagged lunches and feed the homeless in Philadelphia. We are not part of an organization, one year I decided it would be nice to provide a meal on the biggest Holiday surrounded by food to those who don’t have a big dinner. I wanted to give these people hope and remind them they still have things to be thankful for. I think so often people disregard those in need as if they aren’t human. It hurts my heart when I see someone struggling so greatly. The gratitude I received from them was immense- for providing something every human being should have access to- a meal made with love.
My friend was put on bed rest and then unexpectedly while her husband was out of town she was admitted into the hospital – I am bringing her lunch and flowers today!
For the past 3 years I have organized a group of coworkers to participate in Red Shoe Day which is a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House charities. We go out in Encinitas, Ca and raise money. All proceeds go to the house to help provide meals and a place to stay for families that have children staying at choc children’s hospital in San Diego. This past year we raised over $2000!!!
