We took part in the KBS Kindness Week in Sydney, spreading acts of kindness through the community. The highlight was getting filmed by a crew about raising the Foster age funding from 18 to 21.
Buying coffee for others
My neighbors kindly looked after our fish while we went on holidays so we bought flowers to show our appreciation.
We went out as a small group of staff and students to spread a few acts of kindness in the community: bought a couple of coffees; checked in with an elderly homeless man who was waiting for pension day, ensured he was going to a safe place to sleep tonight and got him a coffee; picked up some rubbish; complimented a lady who had beautiful earrings showcasing indigenous artwork; thanked & gave lollies to a couple of cleaners doing their job; smiled and made eye contact with random people out and about 🙂
We went and spoke with Andrew, one of the highly experienced staff at Uni Adelaide College and seeked life and career advice from him. He suggested us to take our jobs seriously and not just as a random day job and to be kind to people.
