We went out as a small group of staff and students to spread a few acts of kindness in the community: bought a couple of coffees; checked in with an elderly homeless man who was waiting for pension day, ensured he was going to a safe place to sleep tonight and got him a coffee; picked up some rubbish; complimented a lady who had beautiful earrings showcasing indigenous artwork; thanked & gave lollies to a couple of cleaners doing their job; smiled and made eye contact with random people out and about 🙂
We went and spoke with Andrew, one of the highly experienced staff at Uni Adelaide College and seeked life and career advice from him. He suggested us to take our jobs seriously and not just as a random day job and to be kind to people.

For Kaplan’s Kindness Week, the Kaplan Brisbane Campus team completed the following acts of kindness today:
• Thanked Police Officers for their service in the community.
• Gifted orange daisies to a lady in an orange shirt waiting for her bus.
• Helped Woolworths staff restock products on the shelf.
• Bough merchandise to support a charity raising money for Motor Neuron Disease.
• Bought a Big Issue magazine.
• Helped an elderly gentleman cross a busy road.
• Bought a coffee for the next person in line at a coffee shop.
• Google reviewed a local business for providing exceptional customer service.
• Gifted chocolate to council workers who were working on a construction site.
• Provided food to various people who are homeless.
• Gave spare change to a pregnant lady who is homeless.
• Complimented a lady who was sporting the most amazing bright pink hair.
• Clapped and thanked a busker for singing at local food markets.
• Gave positive affirmation quotes to train station guards.
• Thanked the council cleaners for keeping our city clean.
• Helped an elderly lady to figure out Apple Pay on her phone.
