Today I bought $50 worth of school supplies to replenish midyear supplies.
I’m a GM in a retail store. I was half awake and nearly dead working 10 hrs on thanksgiving day and another 10 Black Friday after having already logged 30 hrs leading up and having another 20 to go. My mom took a spill on thanksgiving and had to go to the ER and get a CAT scan. She’s okay, but my best friend sent me $10 through FB and said “get some dang Starbucks. You deserve it.” That small act of kindness meant the world to me, especially during a time of year where customers aren’t exactly kind to you when things don’t go their way. I’m so proud to be your friend, Rachel! <3
My dad and I were leaving the fire hall after voting and this woman was trying to help her husband out of the wheelchair to get in the car I got out of my car and went over and helped him out of his wheelchair. Both of them thank me.
I am 100% disabled and walk with a cane or a walker. One day my husband was buying gas and I noticed an elderly gentleman TRYING WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY to maneuver with one old, taped together crutch. I walked over to him and gave him my cane. He didn’t speak English, but the tears of gratitude running down his face knew no language barrier. He hugged me for THE LONGEST TIME. When I got back in my car I thought “What if that were Jesus?” My husband just smiled & said “Let’s go get you a cane.” I love that he understood that I HAD TO DO THAT.
My co-workers car recently broke down downtown in our city. His car stopped in front of someone’s home who realized he was having problems. Not only did she offer her driveway for his car for the rest of the day, but she also drove him to work so he wouldn’t be late. She was a perfect stranger to him and made me realize the impact one can have by helping someone in need, even if it’s just for a ride.
