I was standing at the checkout in my local grocery shop when the young lady (with two little ones) in front of me told the checkout attendant that she didn’t have enough money to pay for her shopping. She said her husband would be there shortly to help.
He did show up and he was so embarrassed when he said he had no extra money. As the attendant had already put their purchase on hold, I just told her (very quietly) to add their bill to mine and I would pay for the lot. The attendant handed me my receipt and then handed the young couple their receipt. They were shocked when the attendant said it is fully paid for! I started to walk away and they came up to me and thanked me, they were so grateful.
I didn’t need to be thanked, just the look on their faces when they realised that their grocery bill was paid was absolutely enough for me! It made me feel so good to help such a seemingly nice young couple. I totally smiled for the rest of the day! What a great feeling!

I send 3 pieces of Glad Mail daily celebrating, congratulating the good I see in others. Since 2001 I have sent over 10,000 pieces of mail. 🙂
