I saw an elderly woman struggling to tie her shoe with it propped up on her shopping cart. She looked unsteady, like she might lose her balance and fall, so I asked her if she would like me to help her tie her shoe. She was so grateful for this small act of kindness. ♥
My neighbour and I take turns of cooking a weekly meal. Its also an opportunity for me to check in with her since loosing her husband.
I was with a group of high school girls listening to a catholic priest, when an elderly woman pulling a shopping cart containing her worldly possessions walked into the church in front of us. Her underwear was around her ankles. I stood walked over to her, pulled up her underwear then sat down next to her.
Later my students asked he how I could touch her and I responded how could I leave her as she was, she deserved some dignity
I helped make 320 rounds of sandwiches for the wake following the funeral of a stranger, who was a good friend to a girl I went to school with 51 years ago
My son was in the Chemist shop at Engadine and an old lady had just had skin cancers removed and needed to purchase dressing. She was a pensioner and was saying to the shop assistant how expensive they are, My son Heath, took the dressing off the lady and took them to the counter and paid for them. The old lady cried and so did the shop assistant. I’m so proud of my son.
