Spent the afternoon volunteering at Food on the Table in Adelaide South Australia, where we helped prepare 1900 meals for people in need
I would like to acknowledge Dr Hassan Sharifi paediatrician at central coast local health district for all the paediatric medical advice and support he has proved me and my family over the past last 5 years. Sadly if it wasn’t for Dr Sharifi i might not have my beautiful 5 year old son. Charlie had sepsis at 3weeks old and as you can imagine this was a very stressful time for my family. Dr sharifi was always explained everything to me even the risk than my son may have had meningitis and after 10 days we were discharged with a referral to get a nuclear scan of Charlies kidneys.
Charlie ended up having a nephrectomy at 8months old and Dr Sharifi has continued to provide professional medical support to Charlie (who he calls his friend) which has now been reduced to 6 monthly -because he’s a strong growing boy and no longer needs close observation.
Sometime it’s hard to find a professional so passionate about their role. This man goes above and beyond and his kindness is not just to my family but every child he treats on the Central Coast, even his peers or registrars.
I hope one day Charlie follows in his foot steps.
