I’m an above knee amputee and when kids ask what happened to me I get a little stuck on what to say.
Today, while standing in line at Bunnings. A little boy standing behind me asked his Dad, “Why does that girl have a robot leg?”
Dad replied, “Mate, I just told you that she is a superhero in disguise. You can’t blow her cover!”
I turned around and said thank you! That is the best answer I have ever heard.
It was great to be treated differently in a way that made me extra special, not disabled

In the drive through the car ahead of me paid for my order. I was so thankful I had to pay it forward and pay for the order behind me.
