As a preschool educator, I see thousands of small acts that are by far not small at all. When friends fall, 18 month olds to 24 month olds are right there to pick up their peers. When a friend is too small to jump or do something small voices encourage by saying “do it” and “yes.” Followed by “you did it.” Every day of my life has been filled with joy, for these children have no idea how encouraging they have been for me. I am blessed and honored to be a participant in learning what kindness truly is, and also true forgiveness and understanding that mistakes occur. I have finally learned a fraction of what joy could possibly mean through the eyes of children.
