At night on my way home, I gave a homeless person food from the restaurant thar I was dining at.
I was waiting in my car to turn right at the lights today and I watched an elderly man (turns out he’s in his late 80’s) crossing at the lights and asking the drivers in front of me if he could get a ride home. Everyone said no I know I shouldn’t be offering complete strangers a ride in my car, however it was a really hot day and he looked very frail. He’d just been grocery shopping and was lugging a couple of heavy looking bags. John was his name. HIs wife, who would normally do the shopping, is now in hospital permanently with dementia. It was only a small detour from where I was going and he was very appreciative of the ride. Many people have showed me kindness in the past and it was a great feeling to pass it forward.
Some months ago I was in a grocer’s shop and had put my groceries through the checkout. I had recently changed the pin number on my credit card and couldn’t remember it. I tried a few times but in the end went over to the checkout where there was a staff member. She tried to help by reducing the number of items so that I wouldn’t go over the limit for transactions that is set by the group I belong to. That didn’t work, so I said I’d go home and get help from there, moneywise.
A woman I had never seen before, nor have since, stepped forward and handed $150 to the lady on the checkout. I looked at her in amazement and she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders, but wouldn’t give me her name.
Held a packing party for Share the Dignity It’s in the Bag campaign, with my friends we put together 56 bags for women in need
Picked up all the rubbish at the local dog park and it felt good. The park was filthy
