  1. I broke my ankle last year and became very depressed, pushing everyone away. My sister, my daughter and my son were absolutely wonderful in practical ways (driving me to appointments, taking out my rubbish etc) and emotional support. I really don’t know how I would be here now, without them.

My husband searched (by contacting a chain of people) the phone number of an ex student from his high school, for a friend who in conversation said she had worked with this person 50 years ago and had lost contact. When the phone number was found and delivered and the two who had been firm friends and workmates so many years earlier, had spoken to each other they were excited and ever so thankful formy husband’s kind deed.

  3. I have been elected as school captain of my primary school and have initiated a program where students provide “big ups” to each other, recognising the small acts of kindness and effort that might happen in our school. Each week on assembly these big up’s are celebrated.
