I encourage my staff every day how great they are and how much they mean to me. It’s the little acknowledgments that make you feel good.
My friends and I have started Community Chest of Indiana, a non profit in training. In the past 2 years, we have fed over 100 families in our community. We set up a Facebook, Boone County Community Chest, that puts community members that need any assistance with those in the community willing to help. Last Christmas we gave toys to 185 children that otherwise would have gone without. This Christmas we have 265 signed up as well as almost 100 families needing Christmas dinner. Our hope is to spread through Indiana, county by county. No one should be ashamed or bullied to ask for help. No child should go hungry. Maybe someday you will see us in every state, putting the “unity” back in communiy!
I think the biggest act of kindness I can think of was three Christmas seasons ago I saw a Facebook post of a little girl who lost her family and home in a fire and all she wanted for Christmas was Christmas cards so I got a bunch of people from my school to sign a bunch of cards for her and I also got her a toys r us gift card and she was so grateful it felt so good to make her happy
Donated to Operation Under, Child Help and Phoenix Children’s Hospital!!! ❤️
