Went camping in state park in a rural area, had to go buy some staples as our original plans did not work out. Was checking out and a mom with a infant was behind me when her 5yr old son came up with a bag of candy, she chastised the child that she did not have money for that, while she went with the son to put up the candy, I walked around and grabbed the same bag from another register , and told the cashier to ring up her whole order as well, paid, and the I left. I have been right where she was, and it broke my heart. To tell my son he could not have a dollar because I didn’t have it to give to him.
Today I bought $50 worth of school supplies to replenish midyear supplies.
I’m a GM in a retail store. I was half awake and nearly dead working 10 hrs on thanksgiving day and another 10 Black Friday after having already logged 30 hrs leading up and having another 20 to go. My mom took a spill on thanksgiving and had to go to the ER and get a CAT scan. She’s okay, but my best friend sent me $10 through FB and said “get some dang Starbucks. You deserve it.” That small act of kindness meant the world to me, especially during a time of year where customers aren’t exactly kind to you when things don’t go their way. I’m so proud to be your friend, Rachel! <3
My dad and I were leaving the fire hall after voting and this woman was trying to help her husband out of the wheelchair to get in the car I got out of my car and went over and helped him out of his wheelchair. Both of them thank me.
I am 100% disabled and walk with a cane or a walker. One day my husband was buying gas and I noticed an elderly gentleman TRYING WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY to maneuver with one old, taped together crutch. I walked over to him and gave him my cane. He didn’t speak English, but the tears of gratitude running down his face knew no language barrier. He hugged me for THE LONGEST TIME. When I got back in my car I thought “What if that were Jesus?” My husband just smiled & said “Let’s go get you a cane.” I love that he understood that I HAD TO DO THAT.
