I bought my brother-in law something to eat after worked an all nighters and still have to go to his second job for the day.
Today I heard a young mum say to her two small children in her shopping trolley, “I’m sorry I’m not a very good mum today”. She sounded like she was burdened by something so I walked over to her and simply told her “Mum’s do the best they can. Sometimes you just need to get through the day, pat yourself on the back and tackle the next hour.”
She thanked me and seemed to appreciate what I’d said. I hope it helped.
I work on a college campus and a student was having a hard time printing their bus ticket to go home for break. I had them email it to me and we had it printed in three minutes. Saved them so much time and stress!
A dear friend of mine has been diagnosed with brain lymphoma, following a kidney transplant 18 months ago with a kidney donated by her father (that’s the first act of kindness). Her father is now dying in hospital in Italy from terminal cancer. Her husband has had to quit his job to look after her while she endures a complicated chemo regime that keeps the cancer at bay, while not destroying her 1 precious kidney. And through this, they are trying to keep their adopted son’s life as normal as possible. The second act of kindness Im acknowledging is another friend who has set up a go fund me page to raise money to keep life as normal as possible for this family, and their son She has been a restless and relentless driving force to raise as much money as possible from within a small community. $12,500 raised so far!! Im so proud to be part of such a kind and caring community, where daily acts of kindness are helping this family through such a tough time in their lives.
I saw a very lovely lady with a radiant smile outside the Von’s Market in Granada Hills last week, ringing the bell for donations for Salvation Army, which BTW, I love! I dropped a few bills in the red bucket, then realized after I got into my car, that I needed to go back into the store for something. As I passed by her, I asked her how long she had to stay. She said till 6:30. I said “would you like a cup of coffee”? She said sure. I brought out a hot cup of Starbucks for her. She was so appreciative and said that “ I was not only beautiful outside but inside as well.” I was so touched by her sweetness. I will never forget this wonderful sweet soul.
