My husbands colleague was collecting handbags to give to 50 women in a shelter at Christmas full of beauty products (hairbrushes, face wipes, make up, nail files, nail clippers etc). I bought a handbag and filled it with all sorts of practical items for her to donate to the woman’s hospice. It is a wonderful thing she does each year to collect 50 handbags full of items for women to be able to have products for their beauty regime they might otherwise not have had access to when they have had to leave their homes so suddenly.
Spotted homeless guy lying still on communal bench in my block – people walking past. Checked he was ok and just sleeping so left him a water of water and a spare coat of mine. Later in day he was gone along with coat and water, so hopefully he got use out of them
Recently my neighbour came down to ask my teenage son how much he earned in his job per hour and she wondered would he mow her lawn for the same rate. He insisted on mowing her lawn for no fee as he knew she’d had to put off her mower man due to money being tight. To make her feel better about it, he suggested maybe he could just have a swim in her pool sometime. She was so impressed with his kindness, she ended up paying him $20 (which he tried to refused but she insisted). Anyway he said he’s happy to do it anytime but she doesn’t need to pay him.
Greeting colleques with kind words and hugs.
Rang my mate who was made redundant prior to Christmas and checked that he and his family are OK
