While on Holidays in Ireland, my friend and i shared a table at lunch with an American couple on their honeymoon and got to talking. After we finished and said goodbye, we stepped inside to pay, and decided to surprise them by paying their lunch tab as well. We left without seeing their reaction but the feeling was incredible.
I donated some money for Caritas to help support project compassion.
Cooking my dad breakfast
Made my Uncle a present for the next time he visits us.
I was living in Colorado and had recently found out I was pregnant. I came across a Craigslist add for a crib/toddler bed combo that came with a mattress, changing table, and matching dresser. I messaged the couple selling it who lived out in Pueblo County. My boyfriend at the time and I went to pick it up and ended up having a great conversation with the family. They showed us around their home and the classic cars they owned. On our way out, I noticed the wife chasing us down the driveway. She stopped us and told us she knew how tough it was starting out and gave us our money back for everything. I teared up and thanked her profusely. I even mailed them a thank you card there after.
Since then, my sons dad and I split up and I am now living back in Alaska and passing that kindness on. I gave the crib set up to another family just starting out. I try to do good for my community as much as I can. I received an enormous amount of help as a single mother and I am now in a position that I can afford to pay it forward. Just this week (Today is 12/20/2018 I back dated this to when we were given the crib, I happened to still have the craigslist emails) I finished up sewing 150 stockings and stuffed them with goodies for the kids in my community. I hope to continue to spread kindness and to influence others the best I can!
