Today I attended my granddaughter’s school for “grandparents day”. I helped Valentina make a LOVE UMBRELLA and we draw all lovely things that we care about inside it. We then made a poppy out of red paper so she could wear it today as it is Remembrance Day.
A dear friend of mine lost her life tragically in a car accident a little over a year ago. This is for her beautiful Mum who has also become a treasured dear friend of mine. Whilst the loss of her daughter has left a massive void in her heart, she volunteers her time helping at a local hospital & also spends time supporting others she knows who are facing their own hardships. She is one of the most thoughtful, big-hearted, genuine, selfless people I know… & I could go on. Out of the blue, she will send the perfect supportive & thoughtful message to someone at the perfect time, just like her daughter used to, We spent 5 hours together yesterday, (although it felt like 5 min), at a beautiful seaside suburb, with absolute gratitude for the beautiful day and for being blessed to have known & loved her daughter for the 37 years she was on this earth. She explained that now that she can’t, in this physical world, demonstrate her love & support to her daughter, she is sharing her love with & supporting others who are working through their own struggles, (no matter how big or small they may be). She is a true diamond. #Kaplan
Our daughter’s car broke down and we changed our plans so we could collect her and take her home
I baked cookies and muffins for our firefighters here on the mid north coast. A quick snack for some energy and to show them my appreciation for their amazing work here in saving our lives and homes.
I heard someone tell a stranger “bless you” when she sneezed. Small, but I saw at least 4 people smile as a result
