  1. Free coffee because the order was missed when ordering food. Shout out to Chipmunks play centre, Learmonth Street, Wendouree. The staff are so friendly and kind. Thank you for your smiles and thoughtfulness.

  2. Example from yesterday – I had a very busy day in cafe with limited team capacity, but despite the pressure, the team did an incredible job working together. They stayed positive, smiled throughout, and ensured our customers had a memorable experience.
This effort did not go unnoticed – a customer named Barry approached me to acknowledge the team’s hard work. He mentioned that he could see how busy we were, yet appreciated how happy, kind, and professional everyone remained during the rush. He was genuinely impressed by the teamwork and the good laugh shared among the team, even in such a busy period.

  3. I want to acknowledge Sarah (GM), Jacinta (Shift Manager) from Mingara Club, and the entire hotel team for their calm, caring and professional response to an in-house medical emergency yesterday. A guest suffered a seizure, and the team immediately stepped in — reassuring both the guest and his partner, staying with them throughout, and continuing to support them when they returned later that night.
Their compassion didn’t stop there. The team checked in again today to offer help as the couple worked through their plans for the coming days.
A brilliant example of colleagues across both businesses working together to ensure the safety and emotional wellbeing of our guests. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism. xx

  4. We set up a whiteboard with staff writing supportive messages about each other.
“Annie helped Angie with a payout issue.”
“Hannah checks in to make sure everyone’s okay.”
“Mark offered help when it was needed.”
“Terry supported Kathy on her first solo shift.”
“Kathy smashed her first overnight shift.”
“Chris brought great energy on a busy night.”
These small moments of encouragement and teamwork say so much about the culture being built — people backing each other, noticing the good, and celebrating the wins.

  5. I’d like to acknowledge Helen Khunphon for her genuine act of kindness and teamwork. When our new kitchen hand Leanne Sharp started, Helen immediately stepped up and said, “Don’t worry, I’ve got her — I’ll take her under my wing.”
Even though Helen wasn’t rostered or required to train Leanne, she took the initiative to guide and support her, helping her feel welcome and confident in her new role. Helen’s willingness to help out simply because she cares is a perfect example of the supportive and kind culture we value on our team.
