I was in an online only parents group on Facebook, and read a post just before Christmas about a young mum who had just lost her husband suddenly in an accident, and she was pregnant with their second child. It was heartbreaking. I sent her a message and asked for her address. I wrapped up some perfume for her, some toys for her 2 year old, and I knitted a blanket for her newborn baby. and posted it all off to them. She sent me a photo a few weeks later of everyone with their gifts, and said it made her cry to realise that a stranger could care enough to do that for someone else.
Saying hello and sharing conversations with random strangers, which made us smile.
Buying flowers for a friend just because
I paid for the flowers the lady in front of me was buying at the grocery store. The clerk scanned the flowers and the lady didn’t want to pay that much so she was going to pick out something less expensive. She was amazed and bewildered that someone would do that. I explained all about Kath and the Kindness Factory and encouraged her to do something kind for someone else.
